What is coloured vinyl?
Other than the standard black we can also make your vinyl record out of coloured vinyl. The colours available are:
- Solid white
- Solid yellow
- Solid red
- Solid orange
- Solid blue
- Solid green
- Solid grey
- Semi-transparent brown
- Transparent green
- Transparent yellow
- Transparent red
- Transparent purple
- Transparent blue

How should I supply my master?
You need to supply us with a master in an audio CD format on a CD-R. If you could ensure the tracks are neatly grouped in the right sequence and side A and B are kept separate to avoid any mistakes.

What file formats do you require?
Our preferred files for audio are WAV or AIFF. We can also accept
- APE (Monkeys Audio) - loseless compressed audio, with error detection
- FLAC (Free Losseless Audio Codec) - Loseless compressed audio with error detection

How do I supply my artwork?
Please send your artwork on a separate CD-R clearly marked "Artwork". We prefer artwork to be supplied in a high resolution print ready PDF format but we can work with other options.

Do you supply bar codes?
Yes we can supply bar codes. Please allow an area on the artwork for your bar code. For more info see our Bar code service page.

What is lacquer cutting?
Lacquer cutting is the name of the manufacturing process which creates the lacquer disc, (a lacquer disc is an aluminum-based disc, covered with a plastic material that is cut by an engineer from the master tapes). This lacquesr disc is then used to create a stamper to press your vinyl record.

What is engraving?
Engraving is text engraved onto the centre of the vinyl record (between the edge of the label and the final lead out grooves). You can have up to 60 characters (including spaces) engraved on the record, but please note that we only use numbers and CAPITAL letters.

What are test pressings?
Test pressings are something that we recommend if you want to check the overall quality of the cut vinyl that we have made before we produce the whole amount.

What is the over and under ratio?
Whilst every endeavour is taken to manufacture exact quantities the delivered quantity may vary from the order (see table below).

What are labels?
Labels are the paper information circles that are physically bonded to the centre of each record.

What is an inner bag?
An inner bag is used for packaging every record, unless disco bags are used (see below). We can offer either inner plastic or paper bags (paper inners can be plain white or printed). You can choose from the following types of inner bags:

12" paper or plastic bag - with or without 2 central holes

10" paper or plastic bag - with or without 2 central holes

7" paper or plastic bag - with or without 2 central holes

What is a disco bag?
A disco bag is an outer sleeve made of carton which is shiny on the inside, so an inner sleeve is not necessary. Disco bags are available with or without centre holes.

What are sleeves (covers)?
A record cover comes in either white, black or printed outer covers. They can be supplied with or without 1 or 2 central holes. Covers also come with or without a spine, (a vinyl cover generally has a 3mm spine but this can be thicker depending on how many records your want to fit in).

How long before I receive my order?
For test pressings 4 – 5 working days. After sign off of the test pressings a further 8 – 10 working days.
